Fall is typically OMRRA rules season. And so it will be again.

If you have rules proposals for the coming season, please send them in writing to [email protected] with a clear "Rules Proposal 2018" in the email heading.

Deadline for submission is October 15, 2017.

Submissions should reference the section of the rule book you would like to see changed, and include a description of why the change will benefit the club.

In all cases, you will receive a response from the Rules Committee, who will work to understand the proposal, will let you know the meeting date on which discussion of the idea will occur, and will invite you to attend. Proposals that make it out of Committee are sent to the Board for a vote. Proposals that affect race class structure (sections A, B, C, and D of the rule book) are then sent to Membership for final vote.

In advance of the Membership Rules Ballot (electronic), proposals will be listed individually in this Forum for commentary. Please contribute your insights and advocate for or against if you see fit.

Rules Committee meetings are open to interested Members. Currently it includes: Chris Page, Keith DiBrino, Matt O'Rourke, Kevin Pinkstaff, Alex Taylor and Daric Cheshire. Others are welcome.

Meeting dates and locations will be announced, and will start in early October. Board vote will be November 15. And Membership Ballot will go out before December 1. OMRRA Rules 2018 will be published online in December, and in booklet form for all Members before the 2018 race season.
